*** NOTE: This review is only on quality of food. The restaurant was not available for dine-in, a little sad about that *** Post-eclipse we were looking forward to finding some familiar flavors from our neck of the woods. We were happy to find that Tan My was open, but a bit bummed that they were take-out only for the night. We all got a different variety of Pho for the evening, which hit the spot pretty well. The broth itself was pretty good, a little on the sweet side for me - I prefer a bit stronger on the anise, but it was definitely a hit with the little ones. The take-out bowls were quite generous, there was plenty in one bowl to split between 3x 7 & under little ones. They were also generous on the side veggies, which is a must... if you've been doing Pho without the side veggies.... you're missing out! All in all, the pho here was pretty solid and the portions pretty generous. Worthy of a try!

Updated review now that I've gone in person. In-person dine in hours at the time of this review are 10 AM - 3 PM, with 10 AM - 7 PM on Thursday, Friday, Saturday. The 55c Hu Tieu Xeo is large pieces of clustered rice noodle and is delicious. It's even better in person. Everything we had was fantastic. Ordered at 6:10 PM on a Thursday evening All food on the table by 6:22 PM Order to Table = less than 15 minutes!

Quick and updated review since my last one was 8 years ago! Nothing has changed besides pricing. (not their fault) Still the best Phở in Austin! Order #2 Still the best Bún bò Huế in Austin! Order Order #33B

Let me start off by saying SO GOOD. This is your kind of a hole in the wall restaurant where the food don't miss. The Pho is delicious and in my opinion comparing this place to Pho Phong Luu, Tan My is better! The broth is so tasteful and light and the Banh mi is delicious and the bread for the Banhi mi taste so fresh. This place gives you the vibe and taste of a home cooked Pho made with a love. Definitely check it out! ***Side not*** There is no true wait list. It's first come first serve. If there is a line you must stand in line and just wait till people start to clear out of the restaurant. So there is NO putting your name down on a list or reservations. The plus side is the service is fast and the wait is not very long even on their busier days. The costumers service is great. 5 stars for the ATX area for sure. Enjoy

Today I broke my habit of always ordering the 3-4 things I *always* order (because they are so good!!). I ordered the #46 Vermicelli with beef stir fried in lemongrass sauce. It was super delicious and wondering where have you been all of my life (right here, this dummy didn't see it!). That'll teach me to stick to the ruts in the road! The bowl was very plentiful and beef was tender. I typically don't order beef dishes due to so many restaurants overcooking the beef so that you need dental floss after. Not today, this was tender, seasoned well and there was a good deal of broccoli, onion, and mushrooms. Truly a delicious menu item for which will not soon forget!

Food: * Pho Tai Chin - Solid pho with tender meat and a well balanced broth. A little pricier than other places, but delicious. * Bun Bo Hue - Really good and almost made me give this place a 5 just for this. Bouncy noodles, flavorful and rich broth that isn't overly salted, plus generous meat portions that are very tender. I could have almost made 2 meals out of that one bowl. To Go: Ordering to go by phone was about a 20 minute wait. It's packaged well for to go. Make sure to keep everything upright because while the broth is separately bagged, the container it is in has a tiny hole to release steam at the top. Logistics: The restaurant isn't large so finding seating can be tough, so may be best for to-go. It was actually completely full when I went at noon on a weekday. There is a small parking lot in front, but since this place shares the strip with 3 other stores the lot fills up fast and I saw plenty of people parking down a fire lane.

This is a family-owned business. We got the Bun Bo Hue/spicy beef soup ($15) and Bun Thit Nuong/vermicelli with grilled pork ($15). The Bun Bo Hue had a nice variety of meat, but I liked the Bun Thit Nuong even more! The grilled pork was so flavorful. The fish sauce flavoring was light and refreshing. I liked the texture of the dried but partially soaked in the sauce noodles. We went on a Saturday mid-day and got seated immediately! Service was fast, friendly, and accurate.

Place has really solid Pho! Friendly staff good prices. I had the beef pho with the mixed cuts, very good. My partner had the chicken with veggie and she enjoyed it. Also started with the veggie spring rolls, very good!

One of the top pho spots in Austin in my opinion. Not the best I've ever had, but amazing for Austin. Tan my is small, but they do a good job of rearranging guests and tables to fit everyone one. We came on a Saturday afternoon and it was moderately full. Service is pretty quick too. I ordered the small #1 and felt that the portion size was huge! Broth is fantastic and the meat is very tender. Lots of bean sprouts, mint and jalapeño to add to your bowl. Overall, I was very satisfied!

We came by around 8 and they stop taking dine in at 7 so we had to order out. The restaurant itself is pretty small and looks very authentic. I got the Vermicelli Noodles with curry and vegetables. The portion size is huge! I was impressed by how yummy the noodles were and there was a good ratio of veggies and tofu to noodles. It was spicy but overall the perfect bite.
